TMS Principal Udate Principal's update of 02/../2020: Good Afternoon, I'd like to thank all of the teachers, staff, parents/guardians, and community leaders who volunteered for the TMS Challenge Day event. The day was filled with laughter, dancing, meaningful conversations, and plenty of emotions which helped all of us develop more empathy for others. However, this event would not be as meaningful without timely follow-up activities for our students to engage with and learn from on a regular basis. As a result, we are putting together a plan for the remainder of this school year. As for next year, we do plan to bring Challenge Day back to TMS during the 2020-2021 school year. I sincerely hope that you will help us make next year’s event an even greater success! Mock Trial at TMS Congratulations to our students who are in the midst of the local mock trial competition in San Luis Obispo! Mrs. Cline and Mr. Raftery (parent volunteer) are working very hard to prepare our students for the semi finals round of competition. Our students have been victorious in mock trials versus Old Mission and Judkins Middle School. We are very proud of them and looking forward to continued success in mock trial at TMS. 5th Annual PTO Dinner and Auction: It is that time of year again and we are proud to announce that the 5th Annual PTO dinner and auction will be held at Mission Square in the Paso Robles Event Center on Friday, May 15, 2020. 5th Annual PTO Fundraiser Flyer 6th Grade Science Camp: If you are interested in being a significant part of our educational program then please consider volunteering to be a chaperone at this year’s 6th grade Science Camp . TMS Spring SemiFormal and Open Gym: Our next dance/open gym is scheduled for Friday, March 6th. The time and place will be announced in one of my upcoming updates. California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress: “The California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) is designed to give information to teachers, students, and their families about what students know and are able to do and whether they are on track to be ready for success in college or a career when they graduate from high school.” Resources for Parents Starting Smarter Parent Guide We will be on a testing schedule beginning Monday, May 4th through Tuesday, May 12th. We appreciate your calling the schools’ 24 hour attendance line (805-434-5817) to clear an absence. Doctor’s notes can be faxed to (805) 434-5812. Please note that a parent clearing an absence, clears it with the school, but not with state attendance protocols. Absences are cleared through the state with a doctor’s/dentist’s note, a student with a confirmed temperature and sent home by the school nurse, an independent study contract, or funeral services for an immediate family member. Please stop by the office if you need a print out of how to access it/your log-in. Official report cards are mailed home at the end of the semester (after finals). Our 2019-20 school year instructional calendar is available here and above in the links area. TMS offers lunch and after school clubs. These are announced daily over the loudspeaker and are also in the daily bulletin.
